One bedroom apartment with internet access beside Barcelona´s beach. The apartment is located on Calle Baluard in the Barceloneta district of Barcelona. It has plenty of shops, cafe´s, restaurants in the area - seafood being a speciality. The apartment has one double bedroom with a double bed, a fully fitted bathroom, kitchen and a comfortable living room. The apartment has high ceilings, giving it any airy feel and is fully furnished with all the mod cons; satellite t.v, dvd player, air conditioning, heating, dishwasher, internet connection etc. Being in the Barceloneta district means it´s not only close to the beach and Marina but also Barcelona´s Gothic Quarter, you can reach Las Ramblas on foot and the Cathedral and many other famous landmarks are about a 10-15 minute walk away. The apartment is ideal for those who want to be in the city centre and have all the comforts of home, the only possible drawback is that the apartment is on the third floor without an elevator.

Location


Barceloneta is the youngest neighbourhood within Barcelona´s city limits. It originated a little over 250 years ago when some of the reclaimed land from the sea (originally used to build the Port in the XV century) was converted into a small neighbourhood. Back in 1759 there were only 329 houses in the area. In 1992 for the Olympic Games in Barcelona, French architect Prosper Verboom left his mark on Barcelona in the form of the remodeled Barceloneta District. Thanks to its privileged situation, flanking the Meditteranean Sea it makes a lovely spot to live in. All the streets cross in a rectangular style, something that is not so often found in European cities. The whole area is designed in a modern yet functional style. The day-to-day activities of the area revolve manly around the catering and tourism sector and more than anything this district is famous for its seafood restaurants and bars which you will find in abundance. Some interesting places to visit in the area include; The History Museum of Catalunya, the Barceloneta beach and The Olympic Port.
